Frequently Asked Questions

Technical

How did you make your site?

It's a modified SadGrl layout, but is otherwise maintained line-by-line on Neocities' dashboard. I always hated programming & web development despite wanting to make a website, but this video helped me get over my aversion to HTML.

Any advice to anyone aspiring to make their own site?

Don't worry about making it look pretty. This site started as a white screen with the default Neocities CSS before I found SadGrl's layout builder. The content of the site is what matters, not what it looks like.

Personal

How old are you?

I was born on July 24, 1998. I turned 18 in 2016, 21 in 2019, and 25 in 2023. That should be enough for you to figure out the rest.

What's your sexual preference?

Whoever looks cute & girly.

What are your pronouns?

all/the/masculine/ones

Are you taking the piss out of pronouns?

I respect the hell out of pronouns. If you don't want to use a gender label to describe yourself, I am down for it. I, however, feel like a robot when telling people I go by he/him, and would rather just say I'm a dude. Do not let how I describe my gender identity interfere with how you describe yours.

I don't actually care that much about what people call me, but I tend to use girls as my profile pics because I like em, and I do mind getting unsolicited DMs from dudes hitting on me because they think girl pfp = girl user. So I always make it explicitly clear that I am in-fact male.

What's your profile pic from?

Every profile picture I've used since 2014 has been a character from Stjepan Sejic's Sunstone. Usually Allison Carter.

Do you hate stories?

Eh, it's complicated.

When I was young, I heard a lot of people say game stories are unimportant, and being impressionable I kind of noncommittally internalized that. But in my mid-teens I got really into RPGs for their game mechanics, and grew increasingly frustrated because I'd try to talk about or criticize RPG systems, only to get dismissed or shut down with "but the story is good." This gave me some bitter resentment towards any narrative discussion in video games, and in a few communities I've developed some infamy for "hating stories."

But I don't hate stories. It's not really psychologically possible to hate stories. What I hate is the absolute insistence that a story is the only thing worth talking about, and I especially hate getting blatantly ignored or having a subject changed on me just because the game is "story-driven." Game design & mechanics are just as much art as a narrative and they deserve to be treated as such. I just want people to meet me on my level.

Hobbies

Favorite games?

Top five:
  • Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
  • Legend of Grimrock II
  • Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
  • Super Metroid
  • Metal Gear Solid

Do you play fighting games?

On & off. I main Millia Rage in Guilty Gear and Cammy White in Street Fighter. If you're in the Discord for Fightcade or MNFGC, DM me @taiku and I'll probably be down to fight.

What about tabletop RPGs?

Yeah sometimes. All my friends play Pathfinder so that's what I've mostly engaged with, but I also like Cyberpunk RED, Mutants & Masterminds, Savage Worlds, Fabula Ultima, and yes I do also enjoy D&D.

Any other media you like?

I like comics. Big fan of the stuff Top Cow puts out, and I dabble in the occasional Marvel or DC romp. And sometimes, when I'm in the mood, I'll indulge in some manga.
