Frequently* Asked Questions

Questions that I get asked or anticipate to be asked, frequency irrelevant.

Technical

How did you make your site?

It's a modified SadGrl layout, but is otherwise maintained line-by-line on Neocities' dashboard. I always hated programming & web development despite wanting to make a website, but this video helped me get over my aversion to HTML.

Any advice to anyone aspiring to make their own site?

Don't worry about making it look pretty. This site started as a white screen with the default Neocities CSS before I found SadGrl's layout builder. The content of the site is what matters, not what it looks like.

Personal

How old are you?

I was born on July 24, 1998. I turned 18 in 2016, 21 in 2019, and 25 in 2023. That should be enough for you to figure out the rest.

What's your sexual preference?

Whoever looks cute & girly.

What are your pronouns?

all/the/masculine/ones

Are you taking the piss out of pronouns?

I respect the hell out of pronouns. If you don't want to use a gender label to describe yourself, I am down for it. I, however, hate using pronouns to describe myself. Telling people I go by he/him pronouns makes me feel like a robot. It feels dehumanizing, and I'd rather just say I'm a dude.

Do not let how I describe my gender identity interfere with how you describe yours. You are valid, and you deserve the right to refer to yourself however you want.

What's your profile pic from?

Every profile picture I've used since 2014 has been a character from Stjepan Sejic's Sunstone. Usually Allison Carter.

Do you hate stories?

No.

Do people think you hate stories? Why is that in your FAQ?

Ehhhhhhhhhhh...

I'm a fan of RPGs, but I don't really care for their writing. I play RPGs for their gameplay exclusively, and over the years I've grown increasingly frustrated talking about RPG mechanics, because I'll frequently get dismissed or shut down by people insisting none of my insight matters because "it's a story-driven game." As a result, I've developed some bitter resentment towards any form of narrative discussion, and in some communities I've earned a reputation for "hating stories."

But I don't hate stories. It's not really psychologically possible to hate stories. What I hate is the absolute insistence that a story is the only thing that matters in any particular game, when it almost never is. Games are games, with gameplay, and their gameplay is worth talking about, regardless of whatever kind of game it's trying to be.

It's just really frustrating trying to talk about a thing I care about, only for people to insist on shifting the conversation to something I don't care about.

Hobbies

Favorite games?

Top five:
  • Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
  • Legend of Grimrock II
  • Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
  • Super Metroid
  • Metal Gear Solid

Do you play fighting games?

On & off. I main Millia Rage in Guilty Gear and Cammy White in Street Fighter. If you're in the Discord for Fightcade or MNFGC, DM me @taiku and I'll probably be down to fight.

What about tabletop RPGs?

Yeah sometimes. I've dabbled in Pathfinder, Savage Worlds, Mutants & Masterminds, Fabula Ultima, Cyberpunk RED, and yes I do also play D&D.

Any other media you like?

I like comics. Big fan of the stuff Top Cow puts out, and I dabble in the occasional Marvel or DC romp. And sometimes, when I'm in the mood, I'll indulge in some manga.
